Overview
This privacy policy describes the data practices of elmshore.org. The site is a static reference resource. It does not operate accounts, memberships, or e-commerce. Data collection is minimal and limited to what is described below.
Information Collected Automatically
When you visit elmshore.org, standard web server logs record your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and the pages you visited. These logs are retained for a limited period for security and operational purposes and are not used to identify individual visitors.
Cookies and Local Storage
This site uses localStorage — a browser-side storage mechanism — solely to remember your response to the cookie consent banner. No tracking cookies are set. No third-party advertising or analytics cookies are used on this site.
If you select "Accept" on the cookie banner, the value cookie_consent=accepted is stored in your browser's localStorage. If you select "Reject", the value cookie_consent=rejected is stored. In both cases, the banner does not reappear. No data is transmitted to the server based on this choice.
Contact Form
The contact form on the home page is a front-end simulation. Data entered into the form is not transmitted to any server, stored in any database, or forwarded to any third party. The form exists to demonstrate the user interface. If you need to contact the site, use the email address listed on the About page.
Third-Party Content
Images on this site are served directly from Wikimedia Commons infrastructure (upload.wikimedia.org). When your browser loads these images, your IP address is disclosed to the Wikimedia Foundation's servers in the normal course of HTTP image requests. ElmShore has no control over Wikimedia's data handling. The Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy is available at foundation.wikimedia.org.
Google Fonts are loaded from Google's CDN to serve the Inter typeface. This discloses your IP address to Google in the normal course of font loading. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
Data Retention
Server access logs are retained for up to 30 days for operational purposes and then deleted. No user-level data is retained beyond this period.
Your Rights
If you are located in Canada, you have rights under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation. Given the minimal nature of data collection on this site, requests for access or correction can be addressed by contacting info@elmshore.org. If you are located in the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) may apply. You can request deletion of any personal data by contacting the same address.
